Tammy Duckworth seems to reference Kiwane Carrington with new legislation
Carrington, a 15 year-old Champaign resident, was unarmed and trying to get into his own house when he was pushed to the ground and subsequently shot and killed by the Champaign Police Department in 2009.
If you don’t know about this case, learn about it.
It, while heinous, is one of the most wickedly illuminating stories about local policing and local government (which questionably found that the shooting was “accidental”) that Champaign-Urbana has.
