Betsy Dirksen-Londrigan announces she’s running against Rodney Davis in 2020

Didn’t see this one coming so soon.

Dirksen-Londrigan lost to Davis by less than 1% in last year’s election.

In Champaign County, she beat Davis by nearly a 70/30 margin.

Beating Davis at the polls has proved incredibly difficult, but if I were him, I’d be a little scared of a candidate with name recognition, who lost by less than a percent last election, who is running against him during a presidential election year with traditionally-higher turnout.

This’ll be interesting.

This Reddit thread about UIUC professor (and former Champaign Mayoral candidate) Joe Petry is pretty bizarre

Allegedly, the University of Illinois has been trying to keep sexual harassment allegations against Petry quiet for a while. His constant absences have raised the suspicions of many.

But then, the story gets even more unbelievable in the comments, where someone claims they met up with Petry through Seeking Arrangements, a sugar daddy website, all while students who are currently enrolled in his classes chime in. It’s kind of explicit, so read at your own risk. I’d be careful about placing too much stock in Reddit comments, but this certainly raises some eyebrows.

Illini football lands former-USC DE Oluwole Betiku

Betiku was a 5-star recruit out of high school. He’s also only played competitive football for like four years, but whatever, we’ll take it.
